How much does a private driver tour or transfer cost?

Every journey is quoted as a fixed fare in British pounds before you confirm — the price you see is the price you pay, with no meter and no surge. Multi-day Scotland tours start from £595 per vehicle, and the fare covers the vehicle and driver, not per person. Card payments are processed in GBP, so your US bank converts at its own exchange rate.

Can I book before I fly to the UK?

Yes — most of our American customers book weeks or months ahead. Use the booking form on this site, call the free US line +1 888 718 5429, or text +44 7728 282341. You enter your dates in UK local time, and we confirm everything by email so you have it in writing before you travel.

Will the driver meet us at the airport?

Yes. Add your flight number when you book and we track the flight, so the driver is there when you land even if it arrives early or late. We meet you in arrivals and help with luggage. The same applies to hotel, cruise port and station pickups anywhere in the UK.

How do I pay, and can I pay by card?

You can pay securely online by card — we send you a payment link and you receive a receipt by email once the payment is confirmed. Card payments are verified by our payment processor, so a confirmed card payment is never requested twice. You can also pay the driver directly if you prefer.

What if my flight is delayed or my plans change?

Tell us as soon as you can — call, text or email and we adjust the booking. Because we track your flight, airport delays are handled automatically. For other changes, the office is open 24 hours, so someone always answers, whatever time zone you are in.

How many people and how much luggage can you take?

Licensed taxis carry up to 6 passengers, and our 8-seater vehicles are available for pre-booked longer journeys. Tell us your group size and luggage when you book — golf bags, cruise cases and ski gear are all fine — and we send the right vehicle.

Is the fare per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle. A family of four pays the same fixed fare as a solo traveler for the same journey, which often makes a private driver cheaper than four rail tickets — and it runs door to door on your schedule.

Where in the UK do you cover?

We are based in Helensburgh, Scotland, and cover the whole of the UK by arrangement — Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Tours can collect you from any UK address, airport or port; the quote simply accounts for the mileage to your pickup point.

How do I know my booking is confirmed?

Your request is saved the moment you submit it, and you receive a confirmation email with your booking reference. The office receives the same details, so nothing is lost. If anything is unclear, reply to that email or call the free US line and quote your reference.

Ways you can pay

Prepay (held) — We pre-authorise the quoted fare on your card — the money is held, not taken. Our office checks the job for any extras and approves it, and only then is the payment taken. You can pay in your own currency; the fare is settled against its GBP value.When: the estimate is held on your card the moment you book. It is only taken after our office approves the job — usually within a few hours. If the final fare is lower, you are charged the lower amount; anything extra (waiting time, extra stops) is agreed with you first.If verification fails: no money is taken and the hold is released automatically (your bank may show a pending line for a day or two). Your booking stays in place as unpaid — we email and text you a fresh secure payment link, and if it still will not go through you can switch to paying the driver or by bank transfer without losing the booking.
Card after ride — Save your card securely now — we charge the final fare when the driver marks the ride complete, then email your receipt.When: nothing is taken at booking — we only check the card is valid. The final fare is charged after the ride, once the driver marks the journey complete, and a receipt is emailed to you.If verification fails: the card is not saved and nothing is charged. Your booking is not cancelled — we contact you for another card, or you can pay the driver on the day.
Direct Debit — Set up a UK Direct Debit mandate now with your sort code and account number. The final fare is collected from your bank account after the journey — ideal for regular and account travel. Protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.When: nothing is taken at booking. The final fare is collected from your bank account a few working days after the ride, with advance notice under the Direct Debit Guarantee.If the mandate or a collection fails: your bank rejects it and we email you. The booking stands and we will ask for another payment method — no charge is applied twice.
Bank transfer — We email you our account name, sort code and account number with a payment reference as soon as you book. The payment must be showing in our account before your journey starts — if it hasn't cleared by then, your driver will be told to collect the fare from you instead.When: you pay before the ride. We email our bank details and a reference when you book, and the money must show in our account before pickup.

If your bank’s 3-D Secure check fails or is cancelled

Nothing is charged and any hold is released by your bank. Your booking is kept — we email and text you a new secure payment link, and if the card still will not verify you can pay the driver on the day, by bank transfer, or over the phone. We only cancel a job if you ask us to.

All prices are quoted and settled in GBP. Card payments are handled by our secure payment providers — we never store your full card details.
